A roll-on for the hair you'd rather not have. Cyperus Rotundus Oil is pure nut grass oil, pressed from the tubers of a weed that grows across the tropics, in a 10 ml bottle with a stainless steel roller.

Nut grass has been used as a depilatory in Ayurveda for centuries, and a small body of modern research has looked at what it does to regrowth. In a 2014 trial, six months of the oil applied twice daily held up against alexandrite laser sessions, and an earlier study in 91 women found it beat a placebo. It's a thin body of evidence — a couple of small trials — and that's the honest case for it.

WHAT IT'S LIKE
Pale gold and light, with an earthy, woody smell that fades as it dries. The steel roller goes on cool, and the oil sinks in without leaving a film.

WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
It doesn't remove hair, and it isn't a laser. It's what you use between hair removal sessions, and the change people report is gradual — regrowth that comes back finer and slower over months, not days.

HOW TO USE
Roll over clean, dry skin twice a day, on underarms, legs, face, or bikini line. Use it after waxing, sugaring, shaving, or epilating too, once the skin has settled. Give it three to six months of steady use before you decide — that's the window the studies ran.

BEST FOR
Anyone who waxes, sugars, shaves, or epilates and would like longer gaps in between.

WHAT'S IN IT
Cyperus Rotundus (Nutgrass) Tuber Oil. That's the whole list.

Patch test before first use — undiluted nut grass oil can be too much for sensitive skin, and you can dilute it with a plain carrier oil if it stings. Keep away from eyes. For external use only. If you're pregnant, nursing, or managing a hormone-related condition, check with your doctor first.

One ingredient

Ximenia seed oil, undiluted. No carrier, no fragrance, no added vitamin E.

Genuinely rare

Ximenynic acid, a long-chain fatty acid found in almost no other plant oil.

Wild-harvested

Hand-gathered from wild trees, under Namibia's benefit-sharing arrangements.

Why you haven't seen it before

There simply isn't much of it.

Most oils on a shelf come from plantations. Ximenia doesn't. There are no ximenia farms, no predictable yield, and no way to scale the harvest beyond what the wild trees give in a given year.

That's the whole reason it stays obscure while argan and marula went global. It isn't a marketing angle — it's a supply constraint, and it's why we bottle it in half ounces rather than pretending otherwise.

What's in it

Ximenia Americana Seed Oil.

One ingredient, undiluted — the same oil whether you buy it here or in the Namibia Collection. Patch test before first use. Keep away from eyes. For external use only.
