Size0.5 fl oz

The lightest oil we bottle. Kalahari Melon Seed Oil is pressed from the seeds of the tsamma melon, the wild melon that keeps people and animals alive in the Kalahari, and it is pure melon seed oil — no carrier, no filler, no blend. What's in the bottle is what came off the press.

The tsamma is the ancestor of the watermelon, and in the driest parts of the Kalahari it has long been the only water for miles. Its seeds were never wasted: they were roasted, ground, and pressed. The oil runs about 70% linoleic acid, which is why it feels closer to a serum than an oil.

WHAT IT'S LIKE
Clear to pale yellow, thin, and almost dry to the touch. It disappears into skin in seconds and leaves no shine at all.

BEST FOR
Oily, combination, or congested skin that can't tolerate a heavy oil. Hot weather. Under makeup. Anyone who has decided oils aren't for them.

HOW TO USE
Three or four drops pressed into damp skin, morning or night, on its own or under moisturizer. Because it's so light you can use it on the face and scalp both. Keep it somewhere cool and dark.

WHAT'S IN IT
Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Seed Oil. That's the whole list.

Patch test before first use. Keep away from eyes. For external use only.

The Kalahari, Namibia

In the deep desert, this melon is the water.

The tsamma is the wild ancestor of the watermelon, and across the driest stretches of the Kalahari it has long been the only water for miles — for people, for cattle, for everything that crosses. A fruit that valuable doesn't get wasted, so the seeds were always kept back: roasted, ground, and pressed. The harvest still follows the rains rather than a planting schedule.

The lightest we bottle

Thin, almost dry to the touch, and gone in seconds. Closer to a serum than an oil.

About 70% linoleic

The fatty acid that oily and congested skin tends to be lowest in.

Leaves nothing behind

No shine, no film, no slip. Layers under sunscreen and makeup without arguing.

If oils have let you down before

It may have been the wrong oil.

Most face oils on a shelf are oleic-rich — argan, marula, macadamia, our own ximenia. They're heavier by nature, and on skin that already produces plenty of its own oil they can feel like too much. People try one, don't get on with it, and decide oils aren't for them.

This one sits at the other end. Roughly 70% linoleic acid makes it thin and fast and matte in a way the rich oils never are. We're not going to claim it treats anything — but if your last oil felt heavy, this is the opposite end of the same shelf.

What's in it

Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Seed Oil.

One ingredient, undiluted — the same oil whether you buy it here or in the Namibia Collection. Listed under its botanical name; the tsamma is the wild Kalahari form of the same species. Patch test before first use. Keep away from eyes. For external use only.
