Already diluted
Blended into jojoba at a strength meant for daily use. Nothing to mix, nothing to guess.
Tasmania's answer to tea tree, and a gentler one. Kunzea Oil pairs steam-distilled Kunzea ambigua with jojoba, so it's diluted to a strength you can use straight from the bottle — no guessing, no mixing.
Kunzea ambigua is a scrubby white-flowered shrub that grows wild along Tasmania's northeast coast, and the oil has only been distilled commercially since the 1990s. It's high in alpha-pinene and 1,8-cineole, and it smells like eucalypt and honey rather than the medicinal punch of tea tree. Undiluted essential oils are too strong for most skin, so we don't sell it that way. Jojoba is the carrier because it's a wax rather than a true oil, so it keeps for years instead of months.
WHAT IT'S LIKE
Clear and light, with a fresh, resinous, faintly honeyed smell. It sinks in quickly and the scent fades within a few minutes.
BEST FOR
Congested patches, post-shave skin, and rubbing into tired shoulders, calves, and the back of your neck after a long day or a hard walk.
HOW TO USE
A few drops smoothed onto clean skin wherever you want it, once or twice a day. Massage it into muscles after exercise. Avoid the eye area.
WHAT'S IN IT
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Kunzea Ambigua Branch/Leaf/Twig Oil. That's the whole list.
Patch test before first use, especially if you react to eucalyptus or tea tree. Not for use on children or in pregnancy without medical advice. Keep away from eyes. For external use only.
Northeast Tasmania
Kunzea ambigua is a scrubby, white-flowered shrub that grows wild along Tasmania's northeast coast, and Tasmania's Aboriginal people have used it for thousands of years. Commercially, though, it has only been steam-distilled since the 1990s — which makes it one of the youngest essential oils in trade despite being one of the oldest in use. It's still wild-harvested rather than farmed.

Fresh and resinous rather than medicinal. It doesn't announce itself the way tea tree does.

Why this one isn't neat
Almost everything we sell is a single pressed oil at full strength. Kunzea can't be. It's steam-distilled, not pressed, and undiluted essential oils are far too concentrated to put on skin — used neat, it's an irritant rather than a treatment.
Plenty of shops hand you the neat oil and leave the dilution to you. We do it ourselves, in jojoba, which is a liquid wax rather than a true oil and so keeps for years instead of months. Two ingredients on the label, and both of them named.

Two ingredients — the kunzea is diluted in jojoba at a strength meant for daily use, the same blend you'll find in the Australia Collection. Patch test before first use, especially if you react to eucalyptus or tea tree. Not for use on children or during pregnancy without medical advice. Keep away from eyes. For external use only.
