Naked Bear Namibia Collection with Ximenia, Kalahari Melon and Mongongo oils

Naked Bear Namibia Collection

Size3 × 0.5 fl oz

Three oils from the dry heart of southern Africa, in one set. The Namibia Collection pairs Kalahari melon, ximenia, and mongongo — a light oil for every day, a rich one for dry skin and hair, and a nut oil the Kalahari has relied on for thousands of years.

Kalahari melons — wild relatives of the watermelon — grow across the desert, and for the San people they were water as much as food; the seeds were ground and rubbed into skin against the dry desert air. Ximenia, the wild sour plum, grows on the sandy plains of northern Namibia, where its oil has long been used to soften skin and condition hair. Mongongo trees grow in the deep Kalahari sands, and their nuts have fed the people there for thousands of years, with the oil rubbed into skin as a moisturizer and into hair as a conditioner.

WHAT'S INSIDE
Kalahari Melon Oil, 0.5 fl oz — light, fast-absorbing, and mostly linoleic acid. An everyday oil for your face, even if your skin runs oily.
Ximenia Oil, 0.5 fl oz — rich and silky, with unusually long-chain fatty acids that leave a soft, flexible finish. For dry, tired skin and frizz-prone hair.
Mongongo Oil, 0.5 fl oz — pale gold with a light hazelnut scent, and rich in vitamin E. For dry hair and skin that's been out in the elements.

HOW TO USE THEM
Kalahari melon morning or night: three or four drops pressed into damp skin, under moisturizer or makeup. Ximenia at night: two or three drops pressed into dry areas, or warmed between your palms and smoothed over the ends of your hair. Mongongo for hair and body: a drop or two worked through damp or dry ends, or a few drops over skin after a shower.

BEST FOR
Anyone who wants one set for face, body, and hair, anyone whose skin runs dry or weather-worn, and anyone you need a gift for. Good on the bathroom shelf, good in a travel bag, good as a gift.

WHAT'S IN IT
Kalahari Melon: Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Seed Oil.
Ximenia: Ximenia Americana Seed Oil.
Mongongo: Schinziophyton Rautanenii Kernel Oil.
That's the whole list.

Contains tree nut oil. Patch test before first use. For external use only.

One ingredient

Ximenia seed oil, undiluted. No carrier, no fragrance, no added vitamin E.

Genuinely rare

Ximenynic acid, a long-chain fatty acid found in almost no other plant oil.

Wild-harvested

Hand-gathered from wild trees, under Namibia's benefit-sharing arrangements.

Why you haven't seen it before

There simply isn't much of it.

Most oils on a shelf come from plantations. Ximenia doesn't. There are no ximenia farms, no predictable yield, and no way to scale the harvest beyond what the wild trees give in a given year.

That's the whole reason it stays obscure while argan and marula went global. It isn't a marketing angle — it's a supply constraint, and it's why we bottle it in half ounces rather than pretending otherwise.

What's in it

Ximenia Americana Seed Oil.

One ingredient, undiluted — the same oil whether you buy it here or in the Namibia Collection. Patch test before first use. Keep away from eyes. For external use only.
