The thickest oil we bottle, in a roller you can aim. Tamanu Oil Roll-On is pure unrefined tamanu — dark green, heavy, unmistakable — in a 10 ml bottle with a stainless steel ball, for the marks and lines you keep going back to.

Tamanu nuts are cured in the sun for weeks before pressing, which is what turns the oil that deep green and gives it its earthy, nutty smell. Islanders across the South Pacific have used it on worn and damaged skin for as long as anyone has kept track. Unrefined, it stays thick and strongly scented; the deodorized version on most shelves has been stripped to get there.

WHAT IT'S LIKE
Dark green and rich, slow to sink in, with a smell that's earthy and nutty rather than pretty. The steel ball lays a thin line of oil exactly where you want it, which is the point.

THE DROPPER OR THE ROLLER
Same single ingredient. The 0.5 fl oz dropper is for pressing over your whole face or mixing into a moisturizer; this one is for going back to the same spots every night.

BEST FOR
The look of old marks, post-blemish spots, stretch marks, rough patches, and the fine lines you've started watching.

HOW TO USE
Roll over clean, dry skin at night, straight onto the spot you're working on, and press it in with a fingertip. Because it's undiluted and thick, a pass or two is plenty. Give it a few months — this is a slow oil.

WHAT'S IN IT
Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Seed Oil. That's the whole list.

Contains tree nut oil. Patch test before first use. Keep away from eyes. For external use only.

South Pacific

Cured in the sun for two months.

Tamanu nuts aren't pressed fresh. They're cracked and left to dry in open sun for one to two months, which is when the oil actually develops inside the kernel. Then they're cold-pressed once. It's slow, it can't be rushed, and it's why real tamanu is dark green instead of pale.

Marks and texture

Supports the look of smoother, more even skin over time.

Calm and comfort

Traditionally used on skin that's dry, tight, or reacting.

Won't clog

Rates 2 out of 5 for comedogenicity — coconut oil is a 4.
